I am not sure where to begin. This blog is definitely all over the place. I hop from one project to another, one day I am posting about gardening projects, like this straw bale raised bed.
Then the next I may have a post about my beloved greenhouse and all I have going on in there.
My studio and painting is another thing I can’t post enough about!
I love decorative painting, nothing is safe from me, not even a piece of scrap linoleum.
I love to build things and refurbish others. I love to sew and cook from scratch. (I promise to share our homemade pizza dough recipe that is killer very soon)
When I first looked into blogging and researched what it was about many said blog about your passion. Great, I have TONS! Though they also recommended finding your niche and stick with it. I don’t have a niche per se. I enjoy too many things, sticking to one is not my way, I am too ADD.
For example, during a particular day my main focus would be to finish a sign that has been ordered from my website, but between coats of paint drying I will zip into the greenhouse and pot up some seedlings, water a few others, then check on my chickens, toss them some straw to scratch and peck and collect the eggs.
I will come back into the house toss on some laundry, sweep the floor and unload the dishwasher. Back out to the studio and check on the sign, if the paint is dry I will do the next task on the sign, it may be adding a border, sketching and painting part of the design, or laying out the lettering. I may head out to the garage while letting that part dry and cut some more boards for other signs, sweep the porch and do a bit of bookkeeping for the small sign business. You get the drift.
One thing is for sure, you are never sure of what you will get here! Maybe even a walk through one the loveliest places with flowers around here…
One reader said it seemed like I had a charmed life. Oh how I can gloss things over! I have a tendency to be cheerful in the face of adversity, I shall not allow circumstances to dictate my happiness.
So you want reality! Today I have the flu, my handsome hubby decided to share his cooties and now I feel like I have been run over by a truck. Despite my crumminess I was determined to get the wording put on a special order sign then found out that I had not even base painted the board completely. So I based it. I so wanted to get that completed and it was a bummer not to at least accomplish my main goal today. The sun is shining, it is a decent temperature out after the longest winter in history (or so it has seemed) and I cannot enjoy it. That is just today…I have a boat load of reality for you if you can take it.
There is no real definition for this blog that I can pin down. But I hope you enjoy it and my adventures in this crazy life!
This looks like a very fun blog (your hydrangeas in the post below are beautiful).
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon and can enjoy the nice weather!
Most of us have blogs that move all over the place. That's life. That is also what's so interesting about reading them. Seeing the way other people live and what their passions are... and how they cope.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about what it is that you think others want. Just be yourself.
I love the beautiful flowers....
I aways enjoy you Blog, I have the flu too I hope you get better soon:)
ReplyDeletePamela,
ReplyDeleteWhen I started blogging I worried about what I should post about...Like you I have many passions, as do you and so many other bloggers...I agree with farmlady... blogs that cover many interests are interesting... you never know what you'll get from week to week! I like that about your blog!
Keep em coming and get better soon!
Deb
I love your blog. Although I am new to reading about what you are 'up to' I love seeing the passion you live your life with. Get better soon and just keep on doing what you are doing!!! ~KM
ReplyDeleteI love the "randomness" of your blog. It makes it feel real.
ReplyDeleteI was concerned when I started too, while I love to crochet, and it is in the title, I have veried interest and passions also. I like the randomess, and no it is not always sunshine and roses here either..and I do gloss over it because we all have issues...the blog is my fun place..and my escape hatch..and so I am glad you gloss too...reality has it's purpose and place...just not on my blog hee hee....hoping you are soon feeling better and out and about...
ReplyDeleteenjoy whatever you want to discuss or show...it is a joy...
Oh, lovely, I hope you get well soon. Feeling ill is horrible. So I hope you're able to reeee-lax!
ReplyDeleteI love your description of a 'typical' day. I think I'm much the same (though with less of the sign-painting!!). Bits of this and bits of that!!
But I love your blog and the way it reflects who YOU are.

You sound just like me. I bounce from one thing to another, all while letting paint dry and laundry wash. I think it's a girl thing. We are natural multi-taskers. I just found your blog and I love it! I'm your newest follower :0)
