A Taste of Spring from California!

I wanted to share some floral joy with you.  We are expecting snow, supposedly this is going to be a doozy of a storm.   The accumulated snowpack will be welcome at the higher elevations and the fresh snow for the ski resorts is a boon for business so it is not really a bad thing.
I have plenty of indoor chores that need doing and as long as I keep power and my woodstove going I should be just fine.
This is my Pams Choice Foxglove, grown from seed
I may even spend a day in my greenhouse getting seeds started.  The hardier flowers will germinate just fine with a little bottom heat and the grow lights, even though the temp in the greenhouse is not that warm.

Heavenly Blue Morning Glory
 My Sweet Pea
(I only grow the annual type, the perennial sweet pea is an invasive pest around these parts and I visciously yank it out when it tries to grow in my yard)

 Prince Edward Iris
(or was it Prince George, hmmm need to look that up)
One day I will share all my iris with you.  I have quite the collection.  I love flowers that propagate themselves and iris' flourish here.

One day soon I will share a trip thru a garden in McCall, Idaho called Charlie's Garden. I enjoyed my tour last August and since I found no photos online about it I figured mine would have to do.
Until we meet again.
Pamela

I thought I would join a different type party this time around

  1. They are all so beautiful Pam! Morning Glories are one of my favorite but I don't have enough sun for them. I could pot them on my deck, I might have to try that. I hope you stay warm and safe!

I loved visiting your blog. You have some wonderful flowers in your garden and a lot of my favorites. I love to garden as well, and am a manager at a garden center, so you can imagine all the flowers I have in my yard. lol.

  5. Thanks so much for linking up. I love the morning glory photo. It is so pretty. My mom had some pink ones. I wish our pesky flowers were as pretty as those sweet peas.

  10. Beautiful blossoms! I love morning glories and some came up from natural seeding the past 2 summers with my climatis. I planted sweet peas last year for the first time and they did really well. I love to pick bouquets for the kitchen windowsill. Have a great day!

  12. Hi Pam,
What a treat it was to enjoy your flowers this morning. I grew foxgloves from seed and loved them but left them behind at my old house when I moved. Wish I'd saved some seeds! Thanks for visiting me at Cottage and Creek. I'm your newest follower.
    Best to you,
    Lynn

  14. Your post was just lovely, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I especially like your little garden cottage. I have been wanting to have something built very similar. I think DH needs to take a look at yours so maybe he will be inspired???
